Walking the West Highland Way

Thank you to everyone for sponsoring me for the Aud-M-Ed Trust when Ian and I walked the West Highland Way at Easter. We were so fortunate with the weather. Apart from one morning of rain it was dry, and then sunny. All the mountain tops we clear, and there were cuckoos in every clump of trees.

Liverpool Half Marathon

Naomi is running the Liverpool Half Marathon in March to raise money for AUD-M-ED. Hearing impairment is a major source of disability and there are limited resources to provide help in developing countries. When the problem is not addressed, many children fail to develop to their potential in terms of oral communication, education, and social and emotional development. Frances Tweedy, Gill Painter and Wanda Neary all took part in a sponsored walk along the Ingleton Waterfall Trail on April 4th 2009. As the photos show, the trail runs through ancient oak woodland and magnificent scenery via a series of spectacular waterfalls and geological features, but is a tough walk with many sharp rises and drops for hikers to negotiate. The team would like to thank everyone who sponsored them, and helped raise money for deaf children and adults in the developing world.
